The fishing was a challenge but we got to see about 5 different black bears, one of which had 3 little cubs. I sat and watched them play for about 2 hours up in a tree while the mom fished. It was pretty incredible! James caught 2 sockeye salmon, one dolly varden but we couldn't keep any of them because he didn't snag them on the head:(
Here we are about where the Russian River meet the Kenai. It was so beautiful! I know...waders aren't exactly flattering when you're 7 months pregnant!
Day 3: Seward
This was by far my favorite day. It was sunny and clear all day, we rented a skiff and went out into Resurrection Bay. It wouldn't been worth the money just to see the scenery this day, it was seriously amazing. But to make it even better we caught a bunch of fish! We got Silver Salmon, 3 different varieties of Rock fish, and a little Halibut. We also saw seals, bald eagles fishing, and cute little puffins!

Our day's catch!

Dinner!

Snow River Hostel...aka home for 3 days! It was this cute little cabin along Seward highway right next to a river. I loved it, we had a kitchen and a surprisingly nice shower!
Dinner that night, halibut, rock cod and salmon! It was sooooo good:)

Brown bear
Moose
Day 4: Matanuska Glacier!
You really can't do this thing justice in a picture, it's 27 miles long and 4 miles wide at it's widest point. I was freaking out when James was on that patch of ice. On either side of him the glacier crevasses were about 30 ft down into freezing water. Pieces of ice were dropping off above him and it seemed to take forever before you would hear them hit the water. Scary!
All that dirt is really ice, we had to hike a while before even making it to the white part of the glacier. Where we weren't even supposed to go without the guided tour and ice spikes, but since this was a cheap do-it-all-ourselves trip we took the risk to see the glacier closer!
Thanks to grandma we didn't lose Benson down in the glacier! He got to spend the week at the Clark house of fun eating marshmallows for breakfast and jumping naked on the trampoline!
I drove the boat so James could fish the most...I like driving the boat!
